Internet Marketing Niche

Setting up an Internet marketing niche is an easy way to make passive online income.  Not surprisingly, there is an unlimited and ever growing number of marketing niches to be exploited on the Internet.  Finding niches is not too difficult using some great online free research tools.  The first thing you need as you pursue your new niche goals is to have a good understanding of keyword research.  You need to know what keywords are and why long tail keywords convert better and are not as competitive to rank for as short tail keywords.  Since long tails convert better you will be more successful targeting these instead of the more competitive keywords.  Good keywords are essential since everything you do should be based on your keywords.

Keywords

Keywords are words and/or phrases that are used to search the Internet.  Several billion searches are conducted daily using different search engines to find related information on the Internet.  Google is by far the most used search engine, but Yahoo and others do command a significant market share.  As people search for information they will add words to their search phases to better define the search.  These words and/ phrases are referred to as keywords.  Some keywords, such as, diet have millions of daily searches.  Better defined keywords, such as, quick weight loss diet will have fewer searches and can be more easily ranked for because it is not as competitive as the keyword diet.  This means your chances of someone finding your niche is a lot higher and therefore you will generate more revenue using the long tail keyword.
